University of Utah will be releasing RFP for a TMC company. My Purchasing department would like some names of TMCS. Anyone help? I told them to google it. 🙂

There are specific TMC's that many higher education organizations use. The two most popular that I know of are Anthony Travel and Christopherson Business Travel. WesternU uses Christopherson and we absolutely love our business relationship with them; excellent customer service.

Good luck,
Raquel

We went out to bid in the Fall and invited the following TMCs to participate: Anthony Travel, BCD, Christopherson, CWT, Egencia, FCM, Conlin Travel, Partners Travel, AMEX, Corporate Travel Planners, World Travel Inc, and TripActions. They did not all participate, but that was the list to whom we sent invitations. In addition, since our RFP is for a public university so anyone can participate, we received a response from Wings Corporate Travel. Since we just went through this ourselves, let me know if you have any other questions that I can help with!

We went out to bid recently as well and selected Christopherson Business Travel. Although we were only able to get a few months of travel in before the pandemic - we have been very impressed with them. They offer a great depth of knowledge and fantastic customer service! Some of the other agencies we invited to bid were Travel Store, Corporate Travel Partners, ProTravel (local agency in Pasadena) and Direct Travel.

Good Luck!
Muriel

We just completed a bid with the participants- Direct Travel, Anthony's, Conlin Travel, CTP and Fox Travel for a university wide travel agency. We did not have one in place before as we had multiple small agencies. Wishing you luck with your RFP. Anne

BU is getting ready to launch an RFP. Is anyone willing to share their RFP template for travel?

TAMU just renewed our agreements with Corporate Travel Planners (CTP) and Anthony Travel (just for main campus' athletic department). We are very pleased with both agreements and would encourage you to send your RFP to them. CTP has a contract under E&I if your university utilizes their cooperative contracts.

Hello,
Our University is Private, but we're considering sending out RFP's. These lists are a great help, but I'm wondering if any of you would give me a little insight. We are looking for something that is "all inclusive". Meaning, singular travel, and group travel (hotel and air). We currently use several different avenues for booking and it makes it very difficult for reporting purposes as I'm sure you all can imagine.
We would like the TMC to cover hotels, our E&I contract with National/Enterprise, single air, group air, group hotel contracts, and charter buses for cities outside our own.
We are hoping to get reasonable fees/cost, a good reporting system, and if possible a bonus to incorporate/replace our expense management system would be nice.
We've spoken with TripActions, and they seem able to do all the travel we need - but not the expense management - any thoughts/experience with them from anyone?
We've looked at ChromeRiver, but believe they may be too pricey and they don't seem to offer travel help for the expense management.
We've looked at Concur, and they partner with World Travel, but we're not so sure about World Travel for our Group Air...Thoughts?
