Good morning.

We are looking to replace our cash advance process with a reloadable debit card program for our student athletes.
Has anyone implemented such a program? Do you currently use Concur to reconcile these transactions?

Please respond if you are willing to discuss!
Thank you.

Good morning,
We implemented the student declining balance card to replace student cash advances and as an option to our other travel card options.

We are in Canada and our Travel card program is through Scotiabank that offer a program, CentreSuite. We use that to reconile, attach receipts and electronic approval processing which is already included in the program instead of additional fees for processing in Concur.

Happy to discuss how we implemented and tools we have if you would like

Is there a virtual card option - or is plastic required for this process? Thanks!

UConn has a process for cards through Commerce Bank. Athletics orders physical cards to have on hand and loads them for the athletes. They are reloadable. We keep a balance at the bank which is monitored and reloaded on a regular basis. These are not reconciled through Concur. I can connect you up with the office responsible for the program if you'd like more info. Feel free to shoot me an email.

We also have a program through JP Morgan for ordering Student Travel Cards. This is typically when there is excessive travel cost outside of Air and Hotel (minimum personal expenses > $100). These are loaded with a $ amount and set with a start and end date to correspond to a few days before and after a trip. They can be reloaded so new cards don't need to be reissued to students who may travel more often. These require more planning as they can take 1-2 weeks to arrive. The transactions on these cards are reconciled in Concur.

Thanks,

Hello. NJIT uses JPMorgan declining balance cards for student athlete meals during intersessions. They are physical plastic cards distributed to the student athletes with amounts reloaded periodically.
