University of Tennessee is evaluating its auditing guidelines and practices for travel auditing. What percentage of reports are you auditing? Also, just to understand volume, can you tell me about how many reports per person are approved per day? I'm trying to compare data and savings of hiring additional workers to keep up with volume.
I'm pretty sure there was just a thread on this in the past month, with lots of responses. You might want to check that, but at UC Berkeley, we audit any travel report over $1,000. The audit process at UC Berkeley comes only after the funding approver has already reviewed and approved the report and any system policy validations have occurred. By auditing only reports over $1,000, that accounts for roughly 17% of the transactions, but about 75% of the total dollars.
