Recently my leadership requested for us to do a price comparing exercise to promote confidence in the managed travel program. The exercise consisted of comparing prices between the online booking tool, airline website and third-party booking sites. All sites were searched at the same time.
The following had to be exactly the same:
Date range
City Pair
Flight number
Fare class
Class of service
The results were good and leadership wants to do this exercise quarterly and publish it on our website. Does anyone know if there is a service we can hire to do this quarterly for us? Leadership thinks it would be best if it was not the TMC or the Travel Management team that was responsible for the testing.

we also do this at VU - we secret shop the TMC - we being our internal travel/expense/payment card team.
We also call the TMC to see what price the agent gives us over the phone.
we do not hire a service! but if you find one I would be interested to know!

A company like Fare Audit can validate that your travelers are being offered the lowest fares: www.fareaudit.com/home/airfare.
They will work with your TMC, so you will want to inform them. TMC contracts will commonly position that the client will pay the audit fees unless the TMC fails the audit, in which case the TMC must pay for it. It's not an inexpensive service, and it's very time-consuming for the TMC. The audit frequency might also be included in your TMC contract. I don't imagine they would agree to more than once annually.
